Cyon Research has sold two of its highly successful publishing outlets to Tangra Solutions.

CADwire.net, a widely read online resource of news and analysis of CAD technologies and business, and the Targeted Advertising Consortium (TAC), will now be operated by Tangra Solutions, a company founded by Rick Stavanja, CADwire.net's Editor-in-Chief and former VP and CTO of Cyon Research.

According to Cyon Research President and CEO Brad Holtz, the decision to accept the MBO offer for the advertising-supported business was consistent with the long-term goals of Cyon Research.

"The growth of CADwire.net and TAC has been substantial over the past several years and poses a significant opportunity".

"We've increased our traffic by a factor of 10".

"There is a tremendous opportunity here for Tangra", commented Holtz.

The recent sale enables a flexible and independent operation of the online publication, and affords CADwire.net the leeway to invest in new technological and content enhancements to accompany its larger readership.

"Rick is a developer of talent and vision", said Holtz.

"He anticipates the adoption of new web-based technologies to CADwire.net to give readers the most relevant and up-to-date industry content".

The restructuring move also allows Cyon Research to concentrate on its own fast-growing operations in the areas of consulting and events, Holtz explained.

Cyon Research is the organiser of the Congress of the Future of Engineering Software (COFES), a premiere annual meeting of top executives and analysts in CAD-related fields that has grown in popularity every year.

Later this month, Cyon Research aims to replicate this unique forum internationally with the COFES India Summit, a precursor to next year's COFES Asia 2007, focusing on international issues in the industry.
