Servo-motor specialists, Control Techniques Dynamics, is poised to launch its EZ-series of servo motors aimed at the North American and South East Asian markets.

The high performance compact servomotors provide the high volume OEM servo market segment with a very cost effective, technologically advanced system The EZ series of motors developed with the unique finned housing design, deliver a high torque output with minimum cogging

Commutation and position feedback is provided by an Incremental Encoder as standard, giving high resolution and accuracy resulting in excellent speed and position control.

The use of specially developed coil wire gives ultimate reliability and quality.

These design criteria combine with high, energy magnets to provide a truly dynamic performance and deliver very high power to size ratio.

Available in four frame options, 55mm, 75mm, 95mm and 115mm, the motors have a rated torque of between 1.9 and 12.0Nm, a rated stall torque ranging from 0.6 to 6.0Nm and a continuous rated speed of up to 5000rpm.

Manufactured to IEC standards, the EZ frame motors have thermal protection, voltage isolation and insulation to Class F, with the entire insulation system currently awaiting UL approval.

The 55 frame is supplied as standard with 400mm flying leads with open ends, whilst the 75 -115EZ frame motors are supplied with connectors.

A built-in brake is also available as an option, totally enclosed within the motor.

High resolution feedback is provided as standard by a 2048ppr optical encoder.

Nominal winding designs for speeds ranging from 3000 to 5000rpm, give the system designer latitude to best suit this application.

Low cogging is provided by the 8 pole fractional slot design, whilst a high torque/inertia ratio is supplied by the low inertia rotor and high-energy Neodymium-Iron-Boron magnets.

This combination, together with the 4 x stall peak torque, gives exhilarating acceleration.

Statistics show that twice as many compact servo motors are sold in these parts of the world compared to larger sizes.

The new EZ range will, therefore, prove of particular interest to industries engaged in a cross section of applications including packaging, automated assembly, robotics, food processing and machine tools.

Available as a complete plug and play solution, it can be supplied with, cable assemblies (for power and signal connectors, to reduce installation time) and low backlash gearboxes for system inertia balancing and optimisation.
