Specialist servomotor manufacturer Control Techniques Dynamics is poised to expand sales of its Unimotor range of AC brushless servomotors in the USA following the company achieving UL accreditation.

The UL Certificate of Compliance, awarded to CT Dynamics, covers the insulation system within the company's complete Unimotor range together with its EZ and SL models.

Essential for any company wishing to export to OEMs in the USA, UL recognition has enabled CT Dynamics to actively market its servomotors in the States, which has already resulted in an initial stock order.

In addition, recognition will also enable the company to protect its markets in Europe and help support its European sales network.

The UL Mark now carried on all CT Dynamics components means that Underwriters Laboratories Inc have tested and evaluated the insulation system used in the company's motors and determined that they meet UL's exacting standards.

In the future, components will be periodically checked by UL at CT Dynamics factory in Andover to ensure they continue to meet match UL requirements.

All CT Dynamics components will now carry the distinctive UR (component recognition) logo indicating that they are certified as part of a larger product or system.

As part of Emerson Electric Co., the world's leading manufacturer of motors and drive electronics, CT Dynamics is an international company recognised for its innovation and expertise in the field of rotary servo and control components.

Established in 1962, its experience covers a spectrum of applications from automated machinery, medical and scientific instruments through to military and aviation equipment.

Launched in 1998 to universal acclaim, CT Dynamics Unimotor AC brushless servomotor range is designed to satisfy the demands of industries where servo-driven systems provide greater motor speed and positioning capability.

Available from 55 to 190 frame sizes, the three-phase, six or eight pole, permanently excited synchronous motors exhibit a sinusoidal back EMF characteristic, providing high output torque with either high or low rotor inertia with minimal cogging.

A finned motor housing of single piece construction gives improved thermal performance while permitted accurate bearing alignment and air gap concentricity.
