Control Techniques manufacturing facility in Newtown has received an award showcasing the most outstanding examples of Welsh companies putting the environment at the centre of their operations

Control Techniques' high-tech Manufacturing facility in Newtown, Powys has recently received the prestigious Wales Environment Award The Award was presented on the 9th October by Corus, sponsors of the award for Companies with over 250 Employees, during a ceremony held jointly at Cardiff International Arena and Bryn Howel Hotel, Llangollen

The event showcased the most outstanding examples of Welsh companies putting the environment at the centre of their operations.

Before the awards ceremony took place three judges from Arena Network toured the Worldwide Manufacturing base in Newtown and were shown the actions taken to improve the company's environmental performance.

The judges were impressed by the recycling procedures on the site and the actions taken by all employees to comply with the environmental management system.

The event was presented by TV celebrity and environmental campaigner Bill Oddie, following an address by Sue Essex, the Minister for the Environment.

Company and Industry leaders were present at the ceremony to see Control Techniques win the award.
