The Commander SK has won Industrial Product Design of the Year in the 2006 Plastics Industry Awards.
The Commander SK has won Industrial Product Design of the Year in the 2006 Plastics Industry Awards.
Kinneir Dufort and Control Techniques received the award, sponsored by DuPont, for the design of the new Control Techniques general purpose drive.
In-depth research and development, excellent product design and manufacturing innovation produced an outstanding drive with a unique look that incorporates many features and benefits.
The Plastics Industry Awards, presented on the 9th June 2006, is the industry's most prestigious awards initiative; a sign of excellence, recognising and celebrating achievement throughout the entire scope of the UK plastics industry.
"Winning this award demonstrates that the collaboration between Control Techniques and Kinneir Dufort is delivering world class results", says Chris Althorpe Senior Design Consultant with Kinneir Dufort.
"The project benefited from an integrated approach to design with CAD data being shared throughout the duration of the project".
"Our in-house prototyping facilities also allowed CT to regularly evaluate progress and test product performance".
Commander SK is a simple, compact and cost effective AC motor speed controller that is easy to operate and provides depth of operation not usually found in the low cost drives category - providing better productivity for motor control applications.
The range consists of nine products as well as a number of accessories which make full use of plastic injection mouldings.
