Cognex has introduced Display Inspect - a machine vision software and hardware package for inspecting displays, keypads, and enclosures on LCD and LED display-based products.
DEK purchased Cognex's MVS-8100 machine vision system with Fiducial Finder II and PasteInspect software.
DEK manufactures screen printers, which are used to print the pattern of solder paste onto pads on printed circuit boards.
The Cognex vision system will be used by DEK to accurately align the screen to the printed circuit board before printing, to inspect the accuracy and coverage of the paste deposits on the board, and to inspect the screen for blocked apertures and smearing.
"The shipment of our 20,000th machine vision system in Europe marks a major milestone for Cognex," said Dr Robert J.
Shillman, Cognex's President, CEO, and Chairman.
"It demonstrates the increasing acceptance of machine vision technology around the world, as well as Cognex's continued success in developing machine vision products that meet our customers' varied and challenging requirements." "Our partnership with Cognex has enabled us to develop the highest performance and most reliable board and screen inspection capability in the industry," said John Hartner, DEK Managing Director.
"This coupled with extremely robust and accurate PCB alignment ensures that DEK printers provide our customers with the highest yields available." In addition, Cognex and DEK have just entered into a new two-year OEM agreement, under which Cognex will continue to supply machine vision systems for use in DEK's screen printing machines.
This agreement underlines the successful partnership between Cognex and DEK over the past eight years -- one which has helped DEK to become a recognised leader in screen printer technology.
DEK is a leading provider of advanced pre-placement manufacturing solutions for the electronics circuit board assembly and semiconductor industries.
Since the company's inception in 1969, DEK has established itself as a major technological innovator.
DEK is now represented directly by international offices throughout Europe, North America and Asia Pacific. Request free introductory details about products from Cognex UK ...
