To ensure each part is identifiable individually, characters containing information are engraved on its surface, for example on the body of an engine block.

These codes directly marked on the surface of each part then need to be verified, read and recorded.

Engine assembly involves many components such as engine block, cylinder head, crank shaft, cam shaft and connecting rod with often similar characteristics making it difficult to distinguish between them.

Doosan Infracore has invested in vision enabling accurate character recognition of information directly marked on the surface of a part.

The acquired data is then logged in the company information system ensuring traceability of the part through the entire production process.

Easy to install and to configure, the Cognex DVT530 vision system ensured the OCR or optical character recognition, reading characters and transferring the data accurately to the destination.
