CoCreate Software has released OneSpace 2002 Solution Suite, which combines SolidDesigner, WorkManager, ME10 and OneSpace, with new capabilities and 11 new modules

CoCreate Software has released OneSpace 2002 Solution Suite, with new capabilities and 11 new modules for improving a company's product development process The release features new modules, including three scalable collaborative services offering personal, project and enterprise collaboration; two modules for establishing and managing engineering projects electronically; two solutions for mold assembly design; and three direct links to NC solutions, providing tight integration with manufacturing teams through Design-for-Machining capabilities

The consolidated suite, which combines a portfolio of solutions - SolidDesigner, WorkManager, ME10 and OneSpace - into one integrated, fully collaborative design solution, was introduced earlier this year and enables companies to dramatically accelerate their product development processes.

In this new release, CoCreate has focused on addressing secure, scalable collaboration services, which allow teams to introduce tailored collaborative design processes: * Personal collaboration service -- supports a virtual meeting of two people and is the ideal solution for collaborative design between designers and their suppliers.

* Project collaboration service -- supports collaborative design among a project team of up to five participants.

* Enterprise collaborative service -- allows up to 25 participants to work together.

With each service, participants can share design data, view, markup and drive design changes together.

The services, supported by OneSpace Designer and Adviser, allow teams to design collaboratively, directly from those applications with the added protection of industry standard 128-Bit SSL encryption.

"The scalable collaboration services have been extremely well received by our customers, and provide a starting point for all sizes of companies to experience the benefits of collaborative design," said Tilman Schad, president and CEO of CoCreate.

"We have focused on easy deployment, with offerings including support, deployment and training." OneSpace 2002 Solution Suite introduces new solutions for managing engineering projects.

With the new Project Data Management and Project Data Access modules, companies can capture, organize and manage all data typically associated with engineering projects, including technical specifications, work schedules, inspection reports and marketing materials.

Both solutions are web-based, supporting the reuse of a company's existing intranet or Internet environment.

Project Data Management supports the creation of virtual engineering projects, from simple, one-level, one-discipline projects to multi-level, multi-discipline projects across the extended enterprise.

Project Data Access provides designers with full access to any data stored in or across a range of projects, and with the ability to change the status of information, if permitted, for example, to reflect a release checkpoint.

These new solutions enhance the Design Data Management environment already deployed at more than 5,000 companies, with an estimated 70,000 productive users already managing their companies' engineering drawings and models.

This release introduces a complete solution for designers of plastic parts, tools and complete mold assemblies.

Two new modules offer mold assembly design, the Mold Base module and optional All Catalog library.

Developed in close cooperation with R+B, a leader in solutions for the tool- and mold-making industries, the new solutions are fully integrated into OneSpace Designer and accelerate the design of the complete mold assembly.

Designers can quickly build mold assemblies from commercially available components.

The new solution offers intelligent default and parameter selection based on existing geometry and proactive advice regarding selecting the best components from a selectable commercial library.

It provides automatic updating of all related components, should one component change.

For example, if an injection pin diameter is changed, all holes in related plates are automatically changed as well.

The solution also offers BOM generation and NC output options.

The All Catalog Library option provides access to all 15 available commercial catalogs.

The new Design-for-Machining capabilities imbedded in OneSpace Designer improve the collaborative design process between the design and manufacturing team.

These capabilities allow design teams to use preferred machining features that reflect such things as preferred machining operations and tolerances available at the manufacturing site.

This new solution also proactively flags potential fundamental flaws, for example, machined features placed too close to each other, or too close to the edge of a part.

CoCreate OneSpace 2002 Solution Suite includes an extensive range of customer-requested enhancements; customers can access this information directly from CoCreate's web site: www.cocreate.com CoCreate is establishing new, web-based On Demand Distribution Services.

Customers can choose to download the latest versions of any component of the OneSpace Solution Suite or request a CD containing the components, which is shipped directly to the customer.
