Software receives Microsoft.NET seal of
approval
CoCreate Software has received the Microsoft.NET Connected logo for its OneSpace.net collaborative engineering toolset.
CoCreate Software has received the Microsoft.NET Connected logo for its OneSpace.net collaborative engineering toolset Receiving the NET Connected logo assures CoCreate users that OneSpace.net is interoperable across platforms, programming languages and applications through the use of web services
Because OneSpace.net is developed on the Microsoft.NET Framework, it provides the increased performance and security of Microsoft.NET-connected technologies.
The streamlined architecture of the Microsoft.NET Framework enhances performance of applications developed using this framework; applications have a smaller footprint and do not need to run processes through monolithic code.
"Small- and medium-sized businesses will be able to benefit from collaborative tools like OneSpace that allow them to do more with less", said Lynn Cafferty, NET Connected Logo Programme Manager at Microsoft.
"Because OneSpace.net uses the Microsoft.NET Framework and web services, companies can communicate with their supply chain partners regardless of location or discipline".
OneSpace.net is designed with the interests of small- and medium-sized businesses and workgroups in mind, where resources and costs are of high consideration in working with diverse product development teams and outsourcing partners.
OneSpace.net features a secure project workspace, integrated meeting centre, application sharing and instant messaging, markup tools, design and task tracker, and 3D model explorer.
OneSpace.net provides users with an optimised solution to their collaborative design projects.
Small companies who have previewed OneSpace.net agree.
"We've been using CoCreate's existing OneSpace Collaboration products on a daily basis for over three years with a number of well-known companies from automotive, consumer electronics and household goods markets", says Jeff Badovick, CEO for Aptec.
"As a small company providing valuable engineering and design services under huge time pressure, we can't afford complex, proprietary applications that have a long and questionable payback and huge integration challenges.
OneSpace.net sets a new standard for convenience, affordability and ease of use for collaborative product development with any potential customer".
"Mid-market companies continue to reject complex systems built on proprietary architectures because what they need is scalability and interoperability", said John Alpine, Chief Technology Officer for CoCreate.
"OneSpace.net represents a significant breakthrough in ease of deployment, as it is built around NET-connected web services components.
This allows customers to easily integrate OneSpace.net into their existing environment".
Alpine also gave insight into the reasoning behind adopting Microsoft's NET-connected technology.
"We wanted to be able to focus our development efforts on our customers' needs and by working with the Microsoft.NET Framework we were able to double the resources dedicated to product differentiation.
It just makes good business sense to leverage their technology and focus on our expertise.
Microsoft's NET-connected technology also allowed us to speed up our delivery time and get a product to market in about six months", he added.
Customers can purchase either a licensed version of OneSpace.net for $995 per user or a hosted version of OneSpace.net for $120 per month.
Both versions will begin shipping in September 2003.
