Net framework aids collaboration
OneSpace.net is a complete engineering collaboration tool that allows project team members to conveniently manage projects, share ideas and communicate effectively.
Software receives Microsoft.NET seal of approval
CoCreate Software has received the Microsoft.NET Connected logo for its OneSpace.net collaborative engineering toolset.
"We adopted OneSpace.net because we wanted to further improve customer communication and reduce misunderstandings", said Andreas Buttgenbach, Team Leader Product Development, M-Tec.
"Plus, we need an efficient tool for taking minutes during online meetings to ensure everything was recorded correctly and understood by all team members".
Prior to enlisting OneSpace.net, the company used conventional methods such as fax, post, e-mail and business travel to discuss drawings and models with customers.
"These methods were error prone and expensive and we've been looking to improve this procedure and subsequently increase employee motivation", said Buttgenbach.
As a supplier in an outsourcing chain within the cut-throat consumer products industry, M-Tec did not want to waste time or money on misunderstandings.
The company understood that, in its business, errors could eat away the very profits its customers gained by outsourcing to M-Tec in the first place.
"OneSpace.net works for us", said Buttgenbach.
"We have already run a successful project using the product with one of our customer, Siemens Mobile".
The company can set up projects in OneSpace.net's project workspace and keep documents, drawings, models and other information online where they can be stored and retrieved quickly.
This guarantees that team members work on the same version - a key tactic for drastically reducing misunderstandings.
M-Tec holds meetings online with OneSpace.net's meeting centre.
"We use it to discuss, inspect and change our drawings and models", said Buttgenbach.
"Team members see the same view of the models on their screens; consequences of changes are quickly visible".
"We bring all relevant team members to a meeting, so we can use their combined expertise to make fast, informed decisions".
