PLM integration speeds product development

The latest version of OneSpace Designer 2005 introduces a new version of integration with the mySAP product lifecycle management solution.

CoCreate Software, a leading provider of flexible CAD and collaborative PLM software applications, has announced the release of 13.20 for OneSpace Designer 2005.

This version includes the previously announced XVL convertor module for CoCreate's 3D CAD product and introduces a new version of integration with the mySAP product lifecycle management (mySAP PLM) solution.

Lattice3D's XVL publishing technology is now available within CoCreate's 3D CAD product, OneSpace Designer Modeling.

With the module, Designer Modeling users can export their 3D CAD designs to XVL, a popular, lightweight 3D graphics format.

These smaller 3D files (typically compressed to around 2% the size of the original) can then be easily shared with the extended team.

Recipients view the file using a free XVL player, a small downloadable plug-in for both Internet Explorer and Netscape.

The XVL convertor module adds to the number of lightweight viewing formats already available within Designer Modeling for publishing 3D CAD designs - helping to enable collaboration within the design process and extending the reach of 3D design data across the organisation.

The new release of OneSpace Designer adds support for OneSpace Designer Drafting to integrate with mySAP PLM.

This complements the existing integration of OneSpace Designer Modeling to mySAP PLM, providing support for mixed 2D and 3D OneSpace Designer environments.

Enterprises using OneSpace Designer Drafting integrated with mySAP PLM can now make 2D product information readily available to any department without compromising the work efficiency of the individual designer.

OneSpace Designer's integration with mySAP PLM provides complete mapping of the lightweight CAD model and drawing files and associated data in mySAP PLM.

Users also have the ability to access document and material masters stored in mySAP PLM from CoCreate 2D and 3D CAD.
