CoCreate Software has announced the latest release of its OneSpace Designer CAD and data management software.

CoCreate Software has announced the latest release of its OneSpace Designer CAD and data management software Designer Modeling 2005 includes a family of products for rapid 3D modelling, 2D drafting and analysis, and flexible, team-focused data management

CoCreate's patented dynamic modelling technology brings freedom to design creation and modification.

By eliminating the sequenced steps that constrain designs, Designer Modeling 2005 gives engineers the flexibility to adapt and respond to evolving product development as well as take the initiative to execute new ideas.

The 2005 release moves further toward a "working on the model" approach and presents a familiar Microsoft XP look and feel.

Additionally, enhanced data management immediately communicates design changes across the development team as they occur.

As a result, designers always work on the correct version of the data and can easily understand the changes when they occur.

Advances in surfacing and ergonomic shaping let Designer Modeling 2005 users access more high-end surfacing tools without having to leave their 3D design system for industrial design packages.

Enhancements include predictive skinning from loosely defined surface boundaries, advanced surfacing techniques, and streamlined surfacing setup and modification.

"Skinning, lofting, and sweeping are much easier with Designer Modeling 2005", said Chris Wing, a Senior Designer at Carl Zeiss Meditec.

"CoCreate has streamlined the steps to create surfaces, making it much faster to build shapes".

"And you can see distinct guide curves and other unique feedback as you work".

"For us, this means we can create shapes and designs that are more stylised than before, and work 30% faster, too".

The new Advanced Design module combines several previous modules into one cost-effective solution and adds a new capability for realistic motion simulation.

Customers receive mould design, 3D geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD and T), design simplification, parametric design for parts and assemblies, motion simulation, and 3D inspection capabilities in one package.

The added simulation capabilities assist design verification by using motion to identify clashes and verify real-world behaviour.

Designers also can capture the motion into movie files for sharing with others as part of design reviews or sales and marketing material.

The increased focus on supporting distributed design by product development teams keeps everyone who is working across a shared assembly structure informed in real-time of part changes that could affect their designs.

Team members stay alert to these changes via capabilities such as an instant-message style change notification for parts and assemblies so users can identify the correct version of the data.

Users can also run side-by-side comparisons of outdated and new part versions to evaluate changes before accepting them.

And increased performance in load times benefits product team members who must work on slower networks across locations.

The new Microsoft.NET API means that partners can more flexibly integrate third-party modules into Designer Modeling 2005, ultimately making more applications available to end-users.

"Global product designers work in an increasingly unforgiving arena that demands more hits and fewer misses".

"CoCreate is committed to delivering the high-value, collaborative product design solutions that product teams need to succeed in this competitive environment", said William M Gascoigne, CoCreate CEO.

"The range and depth of new capabilities and improvements in Designer Modeling 2005 speak to the fact that we're listening to our design customers better than ever before".
