Metaalwerken Bergen op Zoom is part of the BOZ Group, based in Bergen op Zoom, The Netherlands.
The company develops, manufactures and supplies sheet metal components for several industries, including mechanical and equipment construction, food services, instruments, optical and medical manufacturers.
The company has long used CoCreate's 2D CAD tool, but recently completed its design environment by adding OneSpace Designer Modeling and its Sheet Metal modules.
"Before, we used a parametric 3D CAD tool", says Edy Verdult, Manager Engineering at Metaalwerken Bergen op Zoom.
"But our team struggled with the modeller and abandoned it", says Verdult.
Verdult cited several advantages of the CoCreate tool.
"Right away we've sped up design-to-order projects compared with our 2D process".
"It's an excellent solution for sheet metal especially", he said.
"Designers can leverage imported sheet metal parts from clients easily without the need to rebuild broken parts".
"Plus, it's the best CAM connection for TOPS100 and TOPS300, our Trumpf equipment".
The company further expects to minimise manual work for preparing NC programs with the tool.
Metaalwerken Bergen op Zoom, a customer of CoCreate reseller CAD Services, The Netherlands, said it expects a reduction in overall costs as well as faster time to market with improved quality due to its recent investment in CoCreate's 3D CAD.
