Binacchi has adopted OneSpace Designer Modeling, CoCreate's nonparametric 3D CAD software.
Binacchi designs and manufactures machines for soap production and packaging and is a leader in the sector.
Among its customers are some of the most important multinational companies such as Unilever, Colgate Palmolive, Procter and Gamble and PZ Cussons.
Binacchi, based in Gazzada, Italy, employs over 60 people and serves customers world wide.
"We have to focus constantly on both quality products and lean development to remain competitive", says Coriolano Galli, Technical Director at Binacchi.
That makes CoCreate's 3D CAD solution an ideal fit for Binacchi.
Designer Modeling provides flexibility and power to design quickly and responsively, without the preplanning constraints of history-based modellers.
"Our engineers concentrate on the best design for our customers, rather than worrying about software problems resulting from the need to modify the model afterwards", says Galli.
Designer Modeling also accommodates rich master data, so information can be attached directly to the model for anyone who later re-uses the design.
Plus, the CoCreate software works with large assemblies up to 160,000 parts or more.
"If we're going to be lean, we can hardly afford system crashes or a sluggish CAD system", says Galli.
CoCreate reseller SIT introduced Binacchi to the 3D CAD product.
The modelling software is just one of a suite of lean product development tools offered by CoCreate.
The company also offers Model Manager and OneSpace.net for data management and online design collaboration, respectively.
With the 3D CAD solution alone, Binacchi expects to cut product development time significantly and to improve product quality.
