The Good Design Award 2006 is hosted by the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organisation, commissioned by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
Oki Printing Solutions is the world's second largest digital colour printer manufacturer in market share, and represented in 120 countries worldwide.
The company's award-winning digital colour printer is the first product developed based on a new product design strategy of S3 - smart, simple, solid.
CoCreate's dynamic modelling based approach to 3D product development supports Oki Data's development strategy by offering the company ease of use while enabling fast and flexible response to unexpected changes throughout product development.
Time to market and rapid product evolution are pressures characteristic of the high-tech electronics and machinery industry, for which CoCreate is best suited.
Oki Printing Solutions reduced the volume of the printer by 36% compared with previous models, making it lighter and the smallest within its class.
The radical miniaturisation of the product was achieved through a complete examination of the design and finding opportunities to combine parts and make reductions in size.
