CoCreate Software has released version 14.50 of its integrated data management product, CoCreate OneSpace Model Manager 2006.

CoCreate Software has released version 14.50 of its integrated data management product, CoCreate OneSpace Model Manager 2006.

CoCreate's 3rd generation approach to product lifecycle management (PLM) focuses on lightweight support for a company's development processes without the overhead of heavy, or monolithic systems.

CoCreate's enterprise ready solution can now be deployed even faster, setting the new standard for out-of-the-box.

A friendly 15 minute installation brings relief to manual data management headaches.

Termed the essential companion to 3D product development, Model Manager transparently manages revision and state control, provides status alerts and notifications, and orchestrates teamwork across assemblies.

Additionally, Model Manager allows companies to quickly take an engineering bill of materials (BOM) and make it ready for manufacturing.

"Near instantaneous deployment of an engineering data management solution is unprecedented within the industry".

"This latest release of Model Manager allows companies of any size to move beyond 3D CAD into an orchestrated 3D product development process".

"It is an essential step for companies improving their product lifecycle management process", said William M Gascoigne, CoCreate CEO.

Companies leverage the engineering BOM as the starting point for developing the manufacturing BOM and downstream production sequences.

With this release, Model Manager has been enhanced to provide a richer engineering BOM that supports even more downstream manufacturing concepts.

Examples of new capabilities include inseparable assemblies (multiple parts united into one during a manufacturing process) and phantom assemblies (hiding parts for developing staged assembly sequences and kit preparation).

BOM versioning and scheduling also manages coinciding preproduction processes, such as prototyping.

The bill of materials allows companies to strengthen the relationship between development and manufacturing, and blend the exchanges between related business processes.

Companies facing intense time to market pressures can effectively overlap these adjoining stages of the PLM process - starting transitions earlier and combating these pressures.

Collaboration is integrated into CoCreate's 3rd generation approach to PLM, ensuring that what is finished at one stage in the product lifecycle is everything needed to start the next.
