The continuous demand for new weighing and packaging solutions has led the company to design and deliver new manufacturing plants that can be used in different sectors.
Today, several customers, including many larger companies at the top of their respective industries, rely on Opem for the construction of their plants.
Originally, the company designed all its products using OneSpace Drafting, CoCreate's 2D solution.
But as the needs of the design department evolved, new solutions became necessary.
Opem decided to move to 3D, implementing OneSpace modelling after a successful pilot project.
"We decided to continue our partnership with CoCreate and buy their software because of their high technological innovation standards and easy integration with our ERP solution", says Gianni Soncini, IT Manager, Opem.
"At that time, 2D CAD was becoming a little bit restrictive for our designers".
"Our move to CoCreate 3D has brought a significant improvement of the quality of our designs".
Opem selected OneSpace modelling because it would speed production.
Plus, the choice for CoCreate guaranteed the company's huge archive of designs, accumulated over decades, could be re-used and repurposed with the new system.
Opem purchased OneSpace modelling licenses after an evaluation period which included direct comparison with three competitive software packages.
These licenses complement the company's existing OneSpace Drafting seats.
Opem worked with CoCreate reseller CDM Isigraf to add the 3D product to its design environment.
