Colder Products Company (CPC) has launched Colder Application Engineering Group, a new CPC unit dedicated to developing custom couplings solutions for customers' specific application needs

Colder Products Company (CPC) has launched Colder Application Engineering Group, a new CPC unit dedicated to developing the highest quality custom solutions for customers' specific application needs.

The group, comprised of CPC engineers, project managers and estimators, collaborates directly with the customer's engineers and product development teams to ensure the best possible solutions.

The process begins with the customer completing a brief application proposal that is followed up by a CPC design engineer and a Regional Sales Manager.

This immediate collaboration ensures a clear understanding of the mission.

"We've already seen great results from the group," said CPC Application Engineering Manager Jim Brown.

"For example, we recently worked with a manufacturer that was combining three separate parts to make one component for a motorcycle gas line.

Working together, we developed a single custom quick disconnect to replace the three parts, resulting in fewer leak points, reduced assembly time and overall lower costs.

We were also able to reduce the overall weight of the vehicle, which was an important customer goal." CPC's custom application group serves a variety of industries, with clients such as Polaris Pool, KCI Technologies and Mercury Marine.

According to Brown, CPC's new custom application group is unique for several reasons.

"Only a few of our competitors offer custom parts, and those that do generally require very large orders.

CPC is able to provide custom solutions for much smaller quantities.

At the same time, we have designed and produced custom orders in quantities that were in the millions." Brown said CPC's new unit is also differentiated by the fact that CPC's test lab and prototyping capability ensure one of the fastest turnaround times in the industry.

"We understand the urgency in making these parts operational as soon as possible.

We've developed our team and our approach with that in mind." That approach is built on the experience within the CPC unit - which exceeds 60 years combined - and on CPC's modular product design that lends itself so well to custom applications.

CPC's diverse product range also gives the customer more to choose from and CPC's custom team more to work with.

"Our product line is a great base from which to provide custom solutions," said Brown.

"It provides great flexibility, which is something our competitors can't match.".
