Fluid coupling gets more user-friendly
Colder Products Company has made its Sixtube coupling more design-friendly. Acetal shut-off valves have been added to the insert side of the coupling-shut-offs are now available on the body
"Eliminating spills of even a few drops is a key benefit whenever operator safety, clean-up, and costly media loss are important customer concerns," said Andy Hass, Business Unit Manager, Industrial Markets, CPC.
"Colder's new NS products provide a non-spill, single-click connection that enables companies to increase the value of equipment by combining a small coupling size with excellent flow characteristics".
According to Colder, the top 10 applications for non-spill couplings are: 1 Ink handling - speed up connections, reduce messy ink spills, minimise air inclusion, and reduce downtime in making connections to ink containers, print heads and intermediary ink connections of printing and labelling equipment.

2 Electronic liquid cooling - make worry-free connections of liquid cooled, mission critical rack servers, personal computers, chip testers, lasers, and imaging equipment without water damage to expensive equipment.
3 Semiconductor and pharmaceutical processing - increase operator safety; save time and money with faster service time of pumps, filters, chemical carts, etc that are critical in wafer processing fabs, flat panel display fabs and pharmaceutical manufacturing plants using aggressive chemicals, including acids, strippers, solvents, Clean In Place (CIP) chemicals, etc 4 Water treatment systems - prevent spills of chemicals such as hydrofluosilicic acid, sodium fluoride, or chlorine dioxide solution frequently used in water treatment.
5 Chemical distribution systems - eliminate the safety issues related to chemical drips in applications such as institutional/commercial cleaning, portable chemical carts, plating equipment, and industrial laundries.
6 Kidney dialysis - reduce crystallisation issues related to disconnecting bicarbonate lines.
7 Blood chemistry analyser - minimise safety and contamination concerns when handling blood and reagents.
8 Microplate washers - maintain lab compliance and assure biohazard safety when handling blood waste, body fluids, and reagents.
9 Pharmaceutical testing equipment - customised non-spill couplings increase safety and ensure accurate test results of media samples including reagents, saline, DI water and low concentrations of hydrochloric acid.
10 Hazardous material dispensing - the NS series leak-free and spill-free design safeguards handlers of hazardous media during filling and dispensing.
The NS series features Colder Products' exclusive thumb latch for a quick, one-handed disconnection of two lines with an audible 'click' confirming a secure connection.
