Coupling adds value to pneumatic medical cuff

Colder Products Company (CPC) is providing its South American customers with couplings that add functionality and safety to pneumatic limb compression cuffs used for operations.
One such customer, Ger-Ar Comercio de Produtos Medicos, a prominent Brazilian medical equipment manufacturer and distributor, uses Colder Products Company's quick disconnect couplings on its Ger-Ar Matic Electronic pneumatic cuffs.
These cuffs enable surgeons to perform delicate dissections in a bloodless operative field.
Carefully controlled pressure is applied to an extremity and allows control over venous and arterial circulation.
Colder's PMC Series 0.125in flow coupling enables easy, leak-free connections for the Ger-Ar Matic Electronic pneumatic cuffs.
The cuffs have coupling inserts that are connected to plastic tubing.
On the other end of the tube, a second insert connects the tube to the air pump that regulates the amount of pressure needed.
Once the couplings are connected, an audible "click" assures a secure and tight seal.
The connectors also feature the exclusive CPC thumb latch, enabling operator to make rapid, repeated disconnects.
"CPC's quick disconnect couplings add a lot of value to our equipment", says Dalton C Cabral, Director, Ger-Ar.
"Previously, we used a metal connection that leaked and depended heavily on the skill of the operator for proper connection and disconnection of the tubing".
"With the use of CPC connectors, we eliminated this problem for our users".
"The Ger-Ar Matic Electronic is now much more functional and reliable".
The Ger-Ar Matic Electronic assures a safe and efficient surgery.
Orthopedic surgeries, as well as amputations and implantations, can be executed with high precision in a bloodless operative field.
The pressure regulator adjusts and controls the air pressure from 0 to 800mbar.
The Ger-Ar Matic Electronic unit weighs 2kg and measures 260 x 205 x 110mm.
Master Conexoes, a division of Master Fiber Industria, Comercio e Representacoes, Sao Paulo, is the distributor of CPC's controlled performance connections for the Brazilian market.
