The Menvier-JSB division of Cooper Lighting and Security has unveiled a new voice-enhanced sounder that enables buildings to be evacuated as quickly as possible in the event of fire.

As research indicates that people respond more quickly to a spoken alarm message than to just a tone, the voice sounder has been designed to generate a conventional alarm tone, followed by a high-clarity speech message.

The voice sounder is available with a wide range of preprogrammed messages, and it offers excellent synchronisation characteristics when multiple sounders are used, thereby ensuring that messages remain intelligible in every part of the building.

Providing an inexpensive alternative to the PA systems often installed at larger sites, the Menvier-JSB voice sounder has a sound output of 100dB(A), operates from a supply voltage of 18 - 30V and features a low current consumption of just 20mA.

With overall dimensions of just 105mm (D) x 95mm (L), this compact IP54 rated sounder incorporates a volume control and is available in a choice of red or white ABS.
