European funds for Midlands postgrads

Students in the UK West Midlands could be in with the chance to study for free thanks to Coventry University The University's School of Mathematical and Information Sciences has recently been awarded GBP 250,000 million to fund postgraduate study in computing, control and information technology in an attempt to help retain skilled employees in the West Midlands region

ABB has published an "ATEX jargon buster" that helps motor users cut through the jungle of terms and definitions that make up the new ATEX Directives.
The money from the European Social Fund covers full fees for eligible students and offers additional funding for books.
The ESF support has been identified for specific study areas which include business decision management, e-commerce and systems and control.
Prof Keith Burnham, Director of the University's Control Theory and Applications Centre said: "These courses provide a vital life-line to retaining skilled personnel in the region and are highly valued by our industrial and commercial organisations.
Past experience with ESF support for our postgraduate courses has proved to be extremely beneficial both to individuals as well as industry and commerce in the West Midlands region." Places will be awarded to those who meet the following criteria: the candidate must be a citizen of the European Union, be working and residing in the West Midlands region and be employed (working at least 16 hours per week).
Ideally, applicants will have a degree in a relevant subject.
Alternatively they may be allowed entry through experiential learning, with industrial experience in an appropriate area.
