Compressors pave the way for energy savings
A major review of energy usage has led Marshalls to nominate compressor manufacturer CompAir as its preferred supplier.
Before its acquisition by Alchemy Partners, CompAir was a loss making business that had been placed on the disposals list by then parent group Invensys.
Nick Sanders was recruited, in January 2002, as Chief Executive, with a brief to achieve fundamental change in the business to make it a saleable operation and secure its future.
A key focus has been the company's inbuilt capability for producing innovative solutions and products - which is why during the last couple of years CompAir has developed more new products than in the previous five years of the company's history.
The biggest developments so far - the Hydrovane and Oil-free ranges - have been welcomed into the market place and sales are buoyant.
And these introductions along with the new and improved ranges launched at Simmern in June 2005, will ensure that CompAir remains successful in remaining a leader and not becoming a follower.
Through the rationalisation programme and concentrating on its global position using innovation, best practice and new products, the company uses a combination of customer and distributor feedback, competitive performance, existing field experience and a "designed for production" approach, to ensure it continues to deliver what the market needs.
Sanders explained: "The ongoing programme to further develop our products is moving at an ever quickening pace to ensure that we continue to listen to the market requirements and react accordingly".
"Energy efficiency, small footprints and ease of installation and maintenance, are three of the most important requirements of customers, which is why the new ranges that we are now launching include integrated dryer solutions to lessen the space taken up by two individual units".
"We also realise just how important energy efficiency is, which is why we have introduced the variable speed regulation on virtually all of our screw compressors and oil free ranges".
