Sales staff expanded at compressed air company

A CompAir UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 21, 2006

Compressed air firm appoints five more regional sales managers and a technical support assistant for its distribution, industrial and aftermarket sales teams.

CompAir UK has invested heavily in its sales force with the appointment of a further five Regional Sales Managers and a Technical Support Assistant for its distribution, industrial and aftermarket sales teams.

The distribution sales team has added three members: Tony Howard, who will be covering the East Anglia region; Mike Searle, who will be taking over the East Midlands and south west; and Richard Bartley who will be working across Ireland.

The three will be working to build relationships with all CompAir distributors, providing them with product training and sales support.

Howard arrives at CompAir with nearly ten years of sales experience, having held positions at Norgren and Anglair.

Before this, he served six years in the Royal Navy as an Air Engineering Mechanic which saw him visiting various far flung places, such as Antarctica and the Falkland Islands, on HMS Endurance, an ice patrol ship.

Searle has spent the past two years running his own division of an air tools manufacturer, before which he spent 13 years building up extensive sales experience with Economatics.

His background lies in electrical and design engineering which has given him an edge on understanding the more in-depth aspects of the CompAir range.

Bartley is well-established in Ireland, boasting over 30 years experience within the Irish compressor market.

He has previously worked with other compressor companies including Dublin-based ECI, Kaeser Compressors, Gardner Denver and then UK-based Boge, who used his experience to set up its first base in Ireland selling to the manufacturing industry.

CompAir's industrial sales and oil-free division has appointed Martin Lewis, who will be covering the north east.

Lewis arrives from Walker Filtration where he spent a year as UK Industrial Sales Manager.

Before this he spent eight years at Atlas Copco as a sales engineer and quality air manager, building a base of knowledge on the technical and sales side of the business.

CompAir's aftermarket sales division benefits from the arrival of Brian Turvey to the position of Aftermarket Sales Manager.

Turvey will be stepping the company's aftermarket offering up a gear, managing its portfolio of warranty and service contracts.

He has clocked up nearly 20 years experience in the compressed air industry, with the past seven years spent working in the Middle East, three building CompAir's industrial sales expertise in the region and four years in a sales role for Sullair.

Before his time abroad he spent 12 years working for CompAir in the UK in various sales and development roles.

Providing onsite technical support for the sales teams will be James Maybury.

Maybury spent 20 years in the health service followed by eight years at MEB, during which time he worked on projects for Rolls Royce.

The technical experience he gained in both roles means he will be the first point of contact for technical queries from the CompAir sales teams.

He will be assisting with quotes and proposals and providing complex technical information on demand so that the user receives information quicker than ever.

Colin Mander, Key Account Manager for the distribution division at CompAir, is looking forwards to the opportunities his newly-increased team will be able to take advantage of: "Our new appointments bring an incredible volume of experience with them".

"CompAir already has a long-established reputation for first-class products and aftermarket care and there are great opportunities within the compressed air market at the moment".

"I'm convinced that my new team, backed up by the strong network of distributors, will see CompAir go further than ever".
