Sefelec Saphir-E Series automatic cable testers from Cropico integrate instrumentation and switching systems in a single bay, with modular construction providing extensive flexibility in the organisation of automatic test benches.

Functions include measurement of contact and insulation resistance, capacitance, impedance and diodes, plus continuity and dielectric strength testing and shielding detection.

The system also performs specific measurements on relays, connectors and other components.

Main specifications are a range of 16 to 14,000 points, go/no-go two- or four-wire measurements, an insulation range of 1 to 200Gohm and hipot adjustable from 0 to 5kV AC, 0 to 50Hz.

Units are driven by a computer system, with communication through RS232 or GPIB interfaces.

Switching is performed through a high-speed address bus giving rapid scrutiny of test points.

Saphir-E test benches are controlled by application software specially developed for automated testing and measurement of electrical equipment, cables, passive components and electronic subassemblies.
