Guide to temperature measurement

A Cropico product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 18, 2008

Cropico has published a new guide on temperature measurement, explaining some of the common causes of error and how to avoid them.

The A5 colour illustrative free Cropico "Guide to temperature measurement" explains what temperature is and the definition of heat.

There's a practical and easy-to-follow explanation of the three common temperature scales: Fahrenheit, Celsius and Kelvin.

Various informative sections cover "The international practical temperature scale", "Temperature measurement", "Thermocouples" (including explanations of the various types of thermocouples and choosing a thermocouple) and "Thermistors".

The guide features a series of resistance and thermocouple tables among others for user ease of reference, and a handy glossary of terms provides an explanation of terms relating to temperature measurement.

These include ANSI (American National Standards Institute), IPRT (Industrial Platinum Resistance Thermometer) and SPRT (Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer).

Cropico's reputation goes back over 50 years and the company's range includes a wide range of digital micro-ohmmeters, resistance decade boxes, test standards and temperature measurement solutions.

Copies of the guide are available free of charge from Cropico via the Engineeringtalk "request a brochure" link.
