Torque limiter couplings save time and space
Cross and Morse, is now offering an extensive range of torque limiter couplings which combine a dependable mechanical overload-protection device and shaft-coupling facilities in a single compact unit.
New pitch offering for attachment chain system
Cross and Morse's popular attachment chains now offer an even wider range of versatile and cost-effective solutions for mechanical handling applications
The standard series has five sizes, with operating torques from 2.5 to 800Nm, while the low-cost mini series, which is intended for medium- and low-speed applications, cover the torque range from 2.5 to 400Nm.
To ensure maximum versatility, standard Safegard clutches are offered in three principal versions.
CSF types feature a ball-drive system, and are suitable for high-speed, non-synchronous applications, while roller-drive CSY types are intended for use in synchronous applications involving lower running speeds.

Nuclear power application chain costs cut by 40%
In a nuclear power industry application, Cross and Morse was not only able to exceed the product specification, but also to reduce costs by 40% compared with the chains which had previously been used
Safe Lift CSL versions are also roller-type clutches but, unlike other Safegard devices, they provide overload indication only, without automatically disengaging the drive under overload conditions.
Mini-series Safegard clutches are offered in a choice of synchronous and non-synchronous versions, and are ideally suited for medium-speed applications with low radial forces and infrequent tripping.
All Safegard clutches incorporate facilities for operating a limit switch or proximity detector to provide remote signalling of an overload condition, and all offer a wide variety of options for attaching sprockets, gears or pulleys.
Where shaft-to-shaft coupling is required, Safegard clutches can also be supplied with integral elastomeric couplings.
Integral coupling units are available in nine basic sizes, covering operating torques of up to 800Nm.
