Apprentice wins three prestigious awards
Cross and Morse engineering apprentice Karena Simpson has won three prestigious awards for academic excellence in the final year of her HNC studies at North Warwickshire and Hinckley College
Cross and Morse engineering apprentice, Karena Simpson, has won no fewer than three prestigious awards for academic excellence in the final year of her higher national certificate (HNC) studies at North Warwickshire and Hinckley College Her outstanding prowess and application have gained 21-year-old Karena the Area Award for Technology in Mechanical Engineering, the MIRA Cup for the best overall HNC student, and the Exact Precision Shield for the best overall technology division student

The awards, which were won in the face of intense competition from fellow students, were presented at two ceremonies held during November.

Karena joined Cross and Morse's comprehensive apprenticeship scheme three years ago and, during her period of training, has worked in all of the company's major departments, including the manufacturing, logistics, design and commercial departments.
Now that she has finished her apprenticeship, she has taken up a permanent post with the company as a quality engineer, and is continuing to develop her academic qualifications in the quality field.
