Crydom is now offering a range of families of DIN-rail mounting solid-state relays (SSRs) for switching lamps, motors and heating elements.

Crydom is now offering a range of families of DIN-rail mounting solid-state relays (SSRs) for switching lamps, motors and heating elements in applications as diverse as process control, medical equipment and heating and ventilation systems The very long operating life of SSRs and their ability to work in harsh environments makes them ideally suited to these types of use

The popularity of DIN-rail mounting in applications such as these, coupled with the speed and convenience of mounting, opens up an additional market for Crydom's established SSR technology.

Typical examples of the DIN-rail mounting SSRs are the CMRD and CMRA series.

These single-pole, single-throw, normally-open relays are available in variants for maximum load currents of 35, 45, 55 or 65A and operating voltages of 24-280, 48-530 or 48-660V.

Output is an SCR switch and is available in zero-cross or random turn-on versions.

Control voltage is 4-32Vdc or 90-140Vrms.

Recent additions to the range include the lighter, MS11 plastic DIN rail carrier.

These devices uniquely feature DC/DC SSRs with the capability of switching upto 10A DC loads at upto 100VDC.

Typical DC switching applications include, DC Motor control, switching of solenoids, DC lamp switching and battery isolation.

The MS11 range is available, in stock, at RS Components from 01 March 01.

The relays offer the range of SSR benefits, including infinite lifetime, ability to operate in harsh environments regardless of orientation, no moving parts and high-power switching with a low signal input.

They are manufactured in Crydom's ISO9002 certified facility for optimum product performance and reliability.

Approvals to UL, CSA and VDE are pending.

-ends- About Crydom Crydom can genuinely be considered as the inventor of the Solid State Relay (SSR), and began marketing it 1972.

Crydom are the recognised market leader in the field of SSRs and are unique in the fact that they only make SSRs.

Crydom employs around 1,000 people worldwide with 3 main manufacturing facilities in Mexico, and in the UK.

Crydom's factory in Mexico is designed to US building regulations with totally automated production.

As a result it can produce 300,000 units per month with ISO9001 quality assurance.
