Crydom has developed a new 3750V isolation version of its widely used range of ASO series solid state relays.

Crydom has developed a new 3750V isolation version of its widely used range of ASO series solid state relays (SSRs) Offering a reliable, functional and cost-effective alternative to electromechanical switching, the 3750V isolation version is the first high-performance SSR designed for 240V systems

Designed to operate in high ambient temperatures up to 50C (2A continuous load) the new relay is ideal for domestic boiler applications allowing engineers to achieve improved, more reliable designs with greater simplicity.

ASO series enables unlimited switching operations, offering reliability benefits over electromechanical relays.

Power consumption benefits can also be achieved from the ASO's requirement for less drive current than an electromechanical relay.

ASOs are designed with low off-state leakage of just 0.1mA for small inductive loads, and switches silently alleviating the acoustic clicking often associated with electromechanical relays.

Crydom's ASOs offer "zero-cross switching" meaning electromagnetic compatibility is both easier to achieve and constant over time.

"Using a solid state relay has saved 25% space in many designs compared to using an electromechanical relay", comments Bruce McEachran, Technical Manager, Crydom International.

"ASO242's compact single-in-line (SIP) package means that for designs with multiple relays on one board the saving on printed circuit board 'real estate' can be significant.

This space saving combined with the other design and functionality benefits means that Crydom's AS0242 SSR can now be seen as a cost-effective option especially for commercial temperature control applications".

The ASO series is manufactured in Crydom's ISO9001 certified facility for optimum product performance and reliability.

All VDE, UL and CSA approvals can be supported.
