Kit checks torque sense

A Crane Electronics product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 28, 2002

Crane Electronics' new range of UTA tabletop joint kits offer a quick, convenient and repeatable, variable stiffness joint for assessing the performance of torque tools.

Crane Electronics' new range of UTA tabletop joint kits offer a quick, convenient and repeatable, variable stiffness joint for assessing the performance of torque tools.

The joint kit is simply bolted to a tabletop and used in conjunction with a Crane CheckStar transducer to test the tools.

The components of the joint kit can be assembled in different configurations to vary the stiffness of the joint to represent hard, medium and soft assembly joints.

Representing the stiffness of the production joint gives a more accurate assessment of how the assembly tool will perform in production use.

Each UTA joint kit contains a thrust plate, spacer set, disc spring washers, hard washer and guide bolt.

Five kits are available ranging from 0.25 to 1in drives to suit a wide range of applications.
