Crane Electronics reckons the TorqueStar Opta will set new performance standards in the calibration and collection of data from most types of torque tools in the manufacturing environment.

Angle nutrunners, screwdrivers and air and electric pulse tools, as well as torque wrenches can all be calibrated with this versatile unit.

With its modular construction of software, TorqueStar Opta is a truly flexible tool that can grow with a user's needs.

It can be supplied in a basic readout form or extended with six additional software modules to become a fully comprehensive torque auditing tool.

With these modules, TorqueStar Opta has a large memory capacity enabling it to store up to 20,000 readings.

This data can be saved in up to 250 preset job files that can then be configured into rounds, a defined sequence that an operator will follow while performing a torque audit.

TorqueStar Opta features a clear and easily read graphic LCD and is multilanguage.

Its icon driven menu structure allows the operator to quickly navigate through the setup of the unit and features the simple Quick Measure system.

It has been constructed from a high strength injection moulding for rugged shop floor use and a protective rubberised trim has been incorporated to alleviate the risk of secondary damage to components.

It has a compact design and is lightweight.

For portability around the shop floor, it is supplied complete with neck strap.

An R232s output is standard and a barcode reader can also be used.

TorqueStar Opta is available in both standard and fast charge versions.

The standard model provides a useable battery life of 8h between recharges and the fast charge version provides six hours life.

It is the first of a new family of torque measuring tools from Crane Electronics which will use the same software platform to provide a fully integrated family of products.

A powerful statistics generator is available, with statistical analysis and capability ratios.

Closer analysis of the torque profiles can be displayed graphically on the display.
