Drivers have tamper-proof torque settings

A Crane Electronics product story

Preset production versions and micrometer adjustable screwdrivers have been added to the Crane Electronics Tommy Wrench range.

Preset production versions and micrometer adjustable screwdrivers have been added to the Crane Electronics Tommy Wrench range.

Both types feature an ergonomically designed trilobe handle, and torque control is achieved with a slipper mechanism to guard against over tightening and the risk of stripped threads.

With the production version, the required torque is set by the concealed setting mechanism with reference to a Crane digital torque tester or a similar instrument.

This process prevents unauthorised adjustment of torque and is essential where torque values are preset in the production or assembly process.

Models are currently available with torque ranges of 8-80 and 20-200Ncm.

On the adjustable model the torque is easily set by referring to the integral micrometer clear window scale.

A positive lock prevents accidental adjustment during use and a 40-200Ncm range is achievable.

Both production and micrometer adjustable Tommy Wrench screwdrivers are provided with a 0.25in hexagonal bit holder, calibration certificate and carrying box.
