Crane Electronics' new ProWrench Audit combines the features of a high specification digital torque wrench and a specialised inspection tool for auditing fastening processes in a single easy to use package.

It allows any user to audit accurately a pretightened fastener.

This is achieved by measuring the torque at a predefined angle, after the break away point.

ProWrench Audit is ideal for production line use in all industrial sectors.

The ProWrench range is designed to be point of load insensitive, so that the operator can be assured of a correct measurement however the wrench is held and torque applied - particularly useful in limited access situations.

In normal operating mode, ProWrench Audit offers all the features of a high specification torque wrench, displaying peak or real time torque.

Upper and lower limits can be set in peak mode, enabling the display and LED to indicate high, low or OK fastener status.

In inspection operating mode, the ProWrench Audit is designed to allow any user to accurately audit a pretightened fastener, by capturing and displaying the instantaneous torque applied to the fastener after if has moved through a predefined angle following break away.

As the reported value is independent of the actual movement of the wrench, a consistent measurement is generated for comparison with build standards.

Upper and lower limits can be set, again allowing the display and LED to indicate high, OK or low.

For traceability, up to 200 date- and time-stamped readings are stored and can be downloaded to a printer or PC.

ProWrench Audit can be specified with either a dovetail (Sturtevant Richmont) or DIN standard interchangeable head fitting, giving a wide range of head attachments to meet the assembly requirement.
