Cranfield University is offering engineers based in the Eastern Region a chance to attend a series of short "Masters" level courses in process systems engineering, free of charge.

Cranfield University is offering engineers based in the Eastern Region a chance to attend a series of short "Masters" level courses in process systems engineering, free of charge.

These courses are available with support from the European Social Fund (ESF) for Cranfield's Accessible Engineering Skills project.

To qualify for funded places, individuals should be employed and based in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk or Suffolk.

The courses available are: "Process measurement systems", 22nd September 2003; "Process plant operations", 13th October 2003; "Pumps and pumping systems", 10th November 2003; "Process simulation and design", 19th January 2004; and "Process intensification", 23rd-27th February 2004.

The courses, which are taught at Cranfield University's campus in mid-Bedfordshire, apply to a wide range of process sectors including the oil, gas, water, power, chemicals, minerals, food and pharmaceuticals industries.

Tuition will be provided by experts from Cranfield University and visiting lecturers from industry.

Additional support will be provided before, during and after the course using a web-based learning support system called the Online Course Companion.
