Slim, sealed resistors are 8mm deep, giving a low profile when mounted on a vertical surface, such as the side or back of a cubicle or cabinet.

For applications where space is short, Cressall has introduced slim, sealed resistors.

The resistors are 8mm deep, giving a low profile when mounted on a vertical surface, such as the side or back of a cubicle or cabinet.

The SL series is available with continuous power ratings of 40, 63, 100, 160, 250, 400 or 630W or 1kW.

These ratings can be exceeded when power is applied for less than 100% of the time, if they are mounted onto a heatsink or if they are in the presence of moving air.

Applications include the braking of drives and motors, electrical loading and heating, crowbar and snubber circuits, capacitor charging and discharging and current sharing.

They may also be used for anti-condensation heating.

Robustly constructed, all SL resistors provide low noise, making them suitable for use in entertainment, commercial, retail and office environments.

The resistors are ingress protected to IP65, making them suitable for use in areas with high levels of pollution or moisture.

Dimensions (excluding high temperature cables and mounting brackets) start at 50 by 80mm for the 40W resistor up to 250 by 400mm for the 1kW model.

Options include a thermal sensor kit, cable screen termination kit and pre-sized mounting brackets.
