Corus has won a contract to supply Volvo Trucks with precision-machined camshaft blanks for use in the manufacture of critical engine components.

Corus has won a contract to supply Volvo Trucks with precision-machined camshaft blanks for use in the manufacture of critical engine components.

Corus Engineering Steels, based in Rotherham, UK, will supply the camshaft blanks directly to Volvo Truck's manufacturing facility in Skovde in Sweden.

The camshaft blanks, which have been faced and centred, can be placed directly on Volvo's CNC machining cell which produces the final cam profile, saving a great deal of time in setting up and processing of the camshafts.

Lars Andersson, Corus Product Manager said: "This contract demonstrates Corus' commitment to helping the supply chain enhance productivity and improve component performance".
