Broadened range of aluminium slitting options
Aluminium buyers can now look to multi-metals processor and distributor Cashmores to offer a substantially broadened range of aluminium slitting options.
Cashmores was previously a business name of Amari Metals, now a separate company within the US owned UK Steelstock group.
Since its acquisition of the Corus business, Walsall-based Cashmores has substantially increased its customer base and now claims number one position in the aluminium and stainless coil processing market.
Managing director Jeff Blakey says: "By giving us this degree of independence within the group, UK Steelstock has further demonstrated its confidence in our ability to grow the business in an increasingly competitive market.
Substantial investment has enabled us to quickly integrate the Corus operation into our Walsall facilities and continue to expand our capabilities as a first stage manufacturer, offering a wide range of value added services".
Recent developments at Cashmores have seen the introduction of a narrow coil spool winder with integral butt welding and a new off-the-shelf service for a range of polished coil and sheet stock.
Its processing facilities include slitting, blanking, cut-to-length, polishing, helically winding and coating.
Independent from mill ownership, the company has considerable sourcing flexibility and is also able to offer first-stage manufacturing services to smaller stockholders.
Under its new limited company status, Cashmores' structure and management team remains unchanged.
