CSMA has held a workshop to highlight the practical benefits of surface and interface analysis to key industrial sectors involved with product engineering.

Those who attended the workshop were given the opportunity to discover more about the different surface and interface analysis techniques available, and to learn through practical case studies and lab demonstrations how such techniques can solve production, development and process issues within their particular sector.

One of the companies that attended was Rexam Beverage Can Europe, the largest beverage can supplier in Europe.

Robert Burnage, Senior Product Scientist at Rexam Beverage Can Europe commented: "The content of the presentations was excellent and the laboratory demonstrations provided good information on sample sizes and general capabilities which would be useful in day to day work".

Dr Chris Pickles, Managing Director of CSMA, commented: "The workshop was a huge success and allowed CSMA to present the benefits of surface analysis, and our own capabilities as a business, in real industry terms".

"The vast array of industries represented by those who attended demonstrates the diverse nature of this particular analytical area".

Due to the popularity of the workshop it will now be held annually.
