The LCA15 range of surface-mounting intelligent strain gauge amplifiers and controllers was originally designed for weighing applications but is useful for a range of other jobs too.

The LCA15 is a British designed and manufactured instrument allowing a wide range of strain gauge devices for the measurement of force, displacement, load, pressure etc to be connected, and provides isolated high accuracy, low drift 0-10V DC and 4-20mA analogue outputs signals.

The LCA15F, a higher-speed version, is useful for applications such as bagging, drum filling and mixing.

The output is refreshed 10 times a second, with a resolution of 15bit (1 part in 32,768 or 0.003%).

The LCA15 may be programmed through either onboard switches or via an optional handheld remote programmer.

According to Roy Carter, Celsum's Managing Director: "The easy calibration and configuration of the output signals make the LCA15 very user friendly, ideal for OEM use or for self-contained projects or products".

Auto tare and peak hold features are available, with optional plug-in modules with relay output contacts with hysteresis and in-flight compensation for control or alarm purposes, optional current loop or RS232/485 communications, and optional printer output.

The LCA15 and LCA15F are available in mains powered (110/120 or 220/240V) and 9-32V DC-powered versions.

Up to 24 LCA15s may be connected to one RS485 port, or, using the IF25 intelligent junction box, up to 254 LCA15s may share one computer port.

The LCA15 is supplied as standard in an ABS case sealed to IP65, but is available also in a sealed metal case or on a Eurocard.
