Data acquisition tool plugs into computer
Sensors2USB software, supplied with the CDL01-USB, allows the channels to be configured and named, and the data scaled, displayed and stored.
Accelerometers suit RandD
The new CTA001 accelerometer from Celsum Technologies is available covering ranges from +/-2g to +/-225g.
Add a DC power supply and a computer via the built-in serial port, and the strain gauge device can be programmed to provide readings directly in engineering units at speeds of up to 500Hz and resolutions up to 1 part in 400,000 (0.00025%).
The communications protocols are available in a range of Fieldbus protocols: ASCII, Modbus, Mantrabus, with CAN and CANopen on the way.
The evaluation kits contain a choice of DSC or D-Cell, an RS232/RS485 convertor for RS485 versions, computer and power supply leads, a manual and an evaluation copy of the VisualLink rapid application development Scada software package, a graphical program designed for easy development of process control applications.
The DSC and D-Cell provide a stable DC excitation voltage for most common strain gauge devices, and allow multi-stage programming to compensate for non-linearity and temperature effects.
VisualLink will allow the DSC or D-Cell to be configured and the output displayed in a variety of formats, although a "key" must be purchased to allow the application to run without a periodic message appearing, however.
The manual contains detailed instructions for communicating with the modules using other packages.
The DSC and D-Cell intelligent strain gauge conditioning modules provide a cost-effective, speedy and accurate means of connecting field devices to computer monitoring and control systems, and complement Celsum's range of other analogue, digital and radio telemetry instruments for handling strain gauge signals.
They are extremely useful for research and development applications as well as for OEM equipment builders. Request a free brochure from Celsum Technologies ...
