Available now from CS Hyde is a range of PTFE (Teflon) tapes with thicknesses well above the thin gauge of standard product offerings Most PTFE tapes with adhesive are offered in thicknesses from 0.003 to 0.010in

The new Fat Teflon Tape is available from 0.020 to 0.125in thick.

Fat PTFE is a conformable, nonreinforced skived Teflon (PTFE) tape with pressure sensitive adhesive on one side.

It is specifically designed for applications where thin Teflon tapes are not enough.

Fat PTFE has the heft, density and mass that make it very desirable for applications where thicker materials are a must.

Fat Teflon has all the other excellent characteristics associated with standard Teflon tapes, such as: superior insulating strength; a nonstick surface; conformability and flexibility; resistance to extreme temperatures (-70 to +200C); chemical, heat and moisture resistance; nonporosity; excellent release; self-lubrication; low friction; and excellent dielectric strength.

Uses for Fat Teflon Tape include: as insulating and masking tape, as high temperature tape, as antistick release tape, for friction reduction, to cover metals to create sliding surfaces, to reduce noise, and for aircraft mould release.

The tape is available in 5 or 36-yard rolls with widths from 0.5 to 12in.

It can also be fabricated into custom die-cut parts, discs, squares, doughnuts, gaskets etc.

Fat Teflon Tape is available with high temperature silicone or acrylic adhesive, and is also available in 12in wide sheets.
