Convergent Science has released Converge V1.2 computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code.

This Navier Stokes solver uses a technique to automatically generate a boundary fitted grid, thus removing all user meshing time.

Converge is suited to applications involving complex geometries with moving boundaries, such as those found within an internal combustion engine.

Converge automatically handles all boundary motion without any user meshing time or coding.

Converge V1.2 is rich with physical models needed to accurately simulate internal combustion engines.

This includes a combustion modeling suite (with a detailed chemistry solver included as standard), a spray modelling suite (including breakup, collision and coalescence) and turbulence models (including RANS and LES).

Converge uses adaptive mesh refinement (AMR) to automatically refine the mesh where and when it is needed to maximise accuracy and minimise computational expense.

With the meshing bottleneck removed and a range of physical models available, Converge V1.2 is suitable for internal combustion engine CFD analysis.

Converge V1.2 can also handle the complicated mesh motion for a variety of other applications including valves, screw compressors or rotary devices.
