electrical software
Following a major update, the new software from Amtech will provide specifiers, consultants, designers and OEMs with the latest data on the Eaton range
Eaton Corporation - the manufacturer of Cutler-Hammer industrial controls and circuit protection equipment - has completed a major update to the Cutler-Hammer data contained in Amtech's new 2001 range of electrical software In addition to the accuracy of calculations, the provision of up to date and complete manufacturers data is one of the single most important areas for electrical design software

This new update from Amtech will provide specifiers, consultants, designers and OEMs with the latest data on the Eaton range of solutions, helping them to significantly speed the selection of the circuit protection components of their HV and LV electrical installations.
Device characteristics are displayed and images of trip units, relays and technical publications are also available within the software, helping engineers to deliver the optimum protection for their planned network.
Amtech's new 2001 design suite includes software for BS7671 design and verification, graphical HV/LV grading and discrimination and Fault Level analysis to IEC/BS Standards.

Fastest ever set-up for drives
Cutler-Hammer has launched its new range of SV9000 adjustable frequency drives, offering more choices, options and accessories, and setting a new benchmark in installation speed.
David Sturge, UK Marketing Manager, commented: "Increasingly, users looking to plan their HV and LV electrical network installations are demanding the reassurance of advanced protection studies to ensure the safety and continuity of supply in critical situations - but these studies have to be quick and easy to perform so as not to delay network planning.
By updating the Cutler-Hammer product information on Amtech's 2001 Design Suite, we can continue to help organisations speed the selection of correct circuit protection devices for maximum discrimination." The data contained on Amtech's 2001 range will allow engineers to select from Eaton's entire range of Cutler-Hammer circuit breakers and protection devices quickly and easily, and then test their suitability on-screen.
Users simply enter details of the design, using straightforward on-screen dialogs, then add information about the circuit breakers and protection devices direct from the built-in database.
Data such as earth-fault and short-circuit levels are imported directly from the BS7671 design software into the Protection package, along with design data relating to loads, cables, transformers and other system elements.
This will drastically reduce the time taken to prepare essential discrimination studies by removing the need for extensive consultation of Eaton's Cutler-Hammer product documentation.
