Collaboration speeds process plant design
The Vantage Enterprise NET (VNET) family of products is a unique engineering collaboration and integration platform for the plant life cycle.
It is the first solution of its kind on the market and is a response to a strong industry demand to fully integrate this important discipline with other engineering disciplines in a single environment.
The mechanical module provides coverage of all common equipment types found on process plant engineering projects.
As with other discipline areas of the workbench (process, P and ID, instrumentation, piping, electrical, and model management) the module is encompassed in a single integrated engineering data management system that maintains full access, version and data control.
Entry screens allow allocation of components and the addition of information against configurable lists such as finishing and treatment conditions.
The module offers industry compliance with over 600 standard datasheet templates and project administrators can modify or create templates to meet specific company formats.
Efficiency and interactivity of information is a fundamental requirement.
The new module improves data management and invites the mechanical equipment discipline into today's productive engineering workflows.
Vendor data can be imported to reduce input activity while equipment data can be passed automatically from the VPE P and ID application into datasets in the workbench.
Subsequent to the engineering design and specification task, deliverables are produced automatically based on engineering status.
This offers significantly enhanced, quality handover and enables equipment certification, support, spares/lubrication schedules and site maintenance.
Derek Middlemas, VP Strategic Programmes, Aveva Solutions commented: "Aveva is very excited to be able to offer this new release to its customers.
Not only does it broaden the scope of the Vantage Plant Engineering suite, it also answers the market demand for the integration of mechanical equipment engineering in the project workflow.
It is a market first and it enables our customers to further reduce risks associated with executing engineering projects; reducing time and costs while improving project quality".
