A new freeware package calculates the mass and inertia of various shapes including a cylinder, block, cone, sphere, as well as generic inputs where the mass and inertia are manually entered.

ControlEng has released a new version of its IMCalc inertia and mass calculator.

IMCalc is freeware, available for anyone to use and distribute.

IMCalc calculates the mass and inertia of various shapes including a cylinder, block, cone, sphere, as well as generic inputs where the mass and inertia are manually entered.

The user can create an unlimited number of shapes that are stored in a table of elements.

The mass and inertia of each element can be added to or subtracted from the total.

Any existing element in the table can be edited and/or deleted.

All inputs can be saved to a project file for use in the future.

Full metric and US/Imperial units support is provided, and the package is available in English and German.

A concise help file is also included.
