Variable frequency drive range extended

A Danfoss Drives product story

A modular design allows the VLT AutomationDrive to handle every motor control requirement from a single product platform.

Danfoss Drives' VLT AutomationDrive variable frequency drives are now available in the 56 - 75kW power range at 380-480/500V AC.

This power extension covers IP21 (NEMA 1) and IP55 (NEMA 12) rated enclosures.

Additionally, 6 and 11-37kW models are available, both at 200-240V AC.

"The VLT AutomationDrive features an innovative, modular design that can effectively handle every motor control requirement from a single product platform".

"This flexibility allows users with varying manufacturing process demands to install a single type of drive for any industrial process application, while keeping maintenance costs and user complexity at a minimum, and maximising production efficiency", says Tom Momberger, Product Manager.

Danfoss uses a mass customisation manufacturing process that enables a new unit to be built and tested within two hours, in most cases with next-day delivery.

The VLT AutomationDrive monitors, analyses and controls production to ensure continuous, smooth operation.

The user can program it to adapt to complex operations at various points in the line using the built-in Smart Logic Controller for essential control functions or an optional MCO programmable logic controller for advanced operations.

Combining the two solutions allows the user to replace external PLC equipment in most situations, lowering costs and making installation easier.

The controller is simple to configure and enables the drive, motor and application to work together through a preprogrammed chain of events, or by monitoring peripheral devices such as load sensors, photoelectric sensors, dancers, encoders or other common feedback devices.
