Data loggers keep watch over clean rooms

A dataTaker product story

A key research laboratory used a single Datataker DT800 semimobile unit to monitor clean rooms and store long term data of pressure and room temperature to explain any incidence of pressure loss.

This system was primarily used during the commissioning phase before handing over the building to the user group.

Following the success of the monitoring system during this period the decision was made, to install two additional DT800 systems to permanently monitor each individual laboratory.

The research facility now had continuous monitoring of its laboratories with retrievable data both for failure diagnosis and a permanent record of temperature and pressure levels confirming continuity throughout each research project.

The environmental conditions within the building are controlled by a buildings management system (BMS).

The system reports if there is a failure of the control system, but does not identify the cause.

The DT800 data logging system monitors and stores all the temperature and pressure measurements of each laboratory over long periods so that should a failure occur the data could be retrieved and analysed to determine the cause.

Datataker and its partner company Integrated Data Logging Solutions (IDLS) pride their operations on their technical support, both initial commissioning and after the equipment becomes operational.

Construction and installation completed, Integrated Data Logging Solutions visited to finalise operator training.

The location of the data logger panels made the use of a laptop computer to collect data both difficult and inconvenient, so a pocket PC and Bluetooth wireless module were used and connected to the DT800 to show how much more easily this task could be done.

The speed, efficiency and ease of downloading the data wirelessly so impressed the staff at the research facility that they purchased Bluetooth modules for each of the data logger panels, a Pocket PC and DeMobile8 software, to complete the overall installation.

Using the latest electronics and communication technology Datataker and IDLS can provide systems and solutions for all types of data acquisition applications.
