Stock gear catalogue features 60 extra pages
Davall Stock Gears has published the latest comprehensive edition of its stock catalogue.
Specialised modified gear forms have also been produced down to 0.1 module, 10 teeth.
These gear components have been manufactured in a selection of steel and stainless-steel materials with core strength up to 100t/in2, and a range of different hardness.
The gears have been manufactured to a variety of surface finishes typically at 0.8um Ra and in special cases finishes of 0.3um Ra have been achieved.
This manufacturing development has been primarily driven by the need for high performance medical implant mechanisms but can be clearly expanded to cover miniature industrial and control engineering applications.
The manufacture of these miniature gears highlights difficulties in machining complementary shafts and housings.
Further developments are taking place to extend the capacity for subminiature gearing into these conventional components.
