New low-cost retrofit solutions can cut inspection costs and improve quality for manufacturing companies from a wide range of industries.
At the Quality Show to be held in Rosemont, Illinois, from 15th to 17th April, CADCAM developer Delcam will present new low-cost retrofit solutions that will cut inspection costs and improve quality for manufacturing companies from a wide range of industries.
These solutions will give owners of both manual and DCC co-ordinate measuring machines low-cost options for the modernisation of their inspection operations.
"Many companies already have inspection equipment that can compare components against drawings", commented PowerInspect Product Manager Chris Lawrie.
"However, an increasing number of customers now insist on inspection against CAD data and suppliers must change their inspection procedures to meet this need.
Our new retrofit bundle provides a very cost-effective solution to this problem for companies that already own inspection equipment".
PowerInspect offers considerable advantages over alternative software for retrofit situations.
First, it is completely hardware independent, allowing companies with a variety of inspection devices to use the same software on all their equipment.
Secondly, it can meet all the different inspection needs, including checking of geometric features, sections and edges, as well as surfaces.
Thirdly, the software is extremely flexible.
Reports with pictorial, graphical and tabulated data can be produced to recognised international standards or in any customer-specified format.
This flexibility ensures that the resulting reports can be easily understood by everyone involved in collecting or analysing the inspection data.
The combined software and hardware upgrade allows inspection of prototypes, samples or tooling to be carried out against all mainstream CAD formats, including Iges, Catia, SDRC, Unigraphics and Pro/Engineer, as well as against STL files.
It offers all companies undertaking inspection improved speed, accuracy and ease of use at an affordable price.
